Karyn Garcia

General Manager, Anthony

Sometimes there’s more to a city than the scenery. Just ask Karyn Garcia, who traded California landscapes for Kansas’ great plains so her children could live better.

When Karyn’s sister moved to Kansas, she encouraged her to come check it out. Karyn made the move to Kansas in June 2016, and it wasn’t long before she realized her two boys were happier and thriving better in a small-town environment. Although it’s only been a little over a month since Karyn, who lives in Kingman, KS, became the newest General Manager in Anthony, KS, she can already tell that it’s going to be a great second home.

“My boys are doing great here,” Karyn said. “My oldest just graduated high school and works at the McDonald’s in Kingman, and my youngest is doing great in 3rd grade. The opportunities and attitudes towards people with disabilities is much different here and I am grateful for that.”

A customer-service junkie, Karyn has been in management for more than 15 years now. Making her way from fast food to retail, she’s done it all, and is now happy to call McDonald’s home. She is especially excited since Lane Enterprises purchased the locations in mid-October, because she has already seen a difference in her ability to change the restaurant for the better.

“Immediately, we hired more people because the restaurant was never fully staffed,” Karyn said. “That directly impacts our ability to provide the best customer service. I am also looking forward to getting to know the people and the business leaders in this community so we can be more involved.”

Karyn’s goals for the future go hand-in-hand with the Lane philosophy — that happy employees equal happy customers. With continued training and the support of Lane Enterprises, Karyn is confident she can continue to improve the restaurant and grow the customer base.
